WiSE Specialist Emergency Clinic and Heart of the Nation are excited to present a FREE ONLINE information event to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and how bystanders can provide lifesaving assistance. 

During this online event, Greg Page will discuss his personal experience of suffering a sudden cardiac arrest on stage during a Wiggles fundraising performance. This was a moment that could have ended in tragedy but thanks to the quick action of bystanders and the availability of an AED, he recovered from the medical emergency. 

We will also hear from front line Specialist Emergency Physicians Dr Liz Swinburn and Dr Pankaj Arora.

During this event you'll discover:

- The signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest
- The differences in symptom presentation between males and females
- How you can help a patient who is having a cardiac arrest as a bystander
- Where to find your nearest AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- How to use an AED 
- What will happen if you are having a cardiac arrest and you are taken to the Emergency Department
- Ways to lessen your risk of cardiac arrest.

 MEET OUR PRESENTERS:

Dr Liz Swinburn – Emergency Specialist

Dr Liz Swinburn has been an emergency specialist for the past 20+ years. Dr Swinburn has done some time in retrieval with Westpac helicopter service prior to becoming director of Emergency at Mona Vale and then deputy director of emergency at Royal North Shore. Dr Swinburn also continues to be an emergency specialist in Katherine ED in the Northern Territory, Royal North Shore and at WiSE Macquarie Park. Dr Swinburn has also been the doctor for several international sporting teams including the Australian Opals Basketball, U16 Womens Soccer Team, and The NSW Waratahs. Liz has also been the match day concussion doctor for Rugby union matches. Liz continues to be club doctor for the Gordon Rugby union club.

Dr. Pankaj Arora - Emergency Specialist – WiSE Specialist Emergency Clinic

Dr Pankaj Arora is the Chairman and CEO of Wise Medical Group.
Dr Arora has been spent over 28 years as an emergency physician working across 4 continents.

Greg Page – Founder/CEO At Heart Of The Nation and The Original Yellow Wiggle

Fondly known for being the original Yellow Wiggle, Greg Page is now the founder and CEO of Heart of the Nation, a charity committed to increasing Australia's cardiac arrest survival rates through education, access to AEDs, and fostering a community where every individual is empowered to act in an emergency.During a performance for the Black Summer Bushfire Relief, Greg suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) on stage. It was a moment that could have ended in tragedy, but for the swift actions of crew members and fans in the audience that night. They saved Greg’s life thanks to their quick response - using CPR and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
